Padre Trails Camera Club

The Central Coast Counties Camera Club Council, 6C, held its annual awards banquet on Saturday, February 28, 2009 to honor the best of the best from the 2008 competition year. Even though Padre Trails has been a member club for only a short time, three PTCC members took home ribbons for competition-stream images and for "walk-in's" taken to 6C judgings last year.

Most of the winning images from participating clubs came through individual club competitions like ours. A few were entered as "walk-ins" at the bi-monthly Council judgings. The awards presented to these three Padre Trails sharpshooters were for images coming to 6C on both these paths.

Mary Ann Avera received Honorable Mention in the Print-Nature division for her Mushroom Eruption
John Avera won 2nd place in the Photojournalism-Digial division for his Historic Indy Cars at Laguna Seca 2007, 3rd place in the Print-Nature division for his Sweet Meat, Honorable Mention in the Color Print division for Water Wizard, and 2 Honorable Mentions in the Color Slide Nature division for A Metamorphosis and Female Luna Moth.

Next year, with a full year's worth of PTCC winners added to the mix, expect more smiling faces for 2009. Congratulations to all.
